Highest Horsepower Cars
Having the most horsepower can help you win in games like top trumps or Carwow drag races. There are many ways to get maximum power from a car, like adding an electric motor or using a big engine.
But which cars have the most horsepower, Lykkers? You won’t find any affordable family hatchbacks on this list. Making the most powerful cars requires complex engineering and comes with a high price tag.
Here are some of the cars with the most horsepower available :
1. Devel Sixteen – 5,007hp
In 2017, the Devel Sixteen car created a lot of excitement. It boasts a massive 12.3-liter V16 engine with four turbochargers, producing an incredible 5,007 horsepower.
For comparison, the Rimac Nevera is currently the fastest car ever drag-raced by Carwow, with "only" 1,914 horsepower. However, there's a catch—the Devel Sixteen hasn't been produced for sale yet.
2. Koenigsegg Gemera – 2,300hp
The Koenigsegg Gemera, while less powerful than the Devel, is actually available for purchase. It boasts 2,300 horsepower and has four seats, allowing you and three friends to enjoy the ride.
It's powered by a 5.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine with an added electric motor. To experience this power on the road, you'll need to spend around £1.5 million.
3. Lotus Evija – 2,000hp
The Lotus Evija marks Lotus's most powerful production car yet, thanks to funding from its Chinese owner, Geely. It boasts one electric motor per wheel, totaling 2,000 horsepower and 1,704 Nm of torque. It accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in under 3.0 seconds. However, this ultra-rare hypercar comes with a price tag of over £2 million.
4. Rimac Nevera – 1,914hp
The Rimac Nevera is tied for first place on the Carwow drag race leaderboard with the McMurtry Spierling. It achieves this with its four electric motors producing a total of 1,914 horsepower.
It accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in just 1.84 seconds and can reach a top speed of 256 mph. Despite its incredible performance, the Nevera is well-appointed inside, reflecting its hefty price tag of £1.7 million.
5. Hennessey Venom F5 – 1,842hp
Hennessey, known for its hypercars, primarily focuses on the North American market due to its larger customer base and better recognition there. They are particularly exclusive, with only 24 coupes and 30 open-top versions of the 6.6-liter V8-powered Venom F5 being produced.
These cars are not for everyone; they're designed for those with several million dollars to spare and the courage to handle a powerful beast that exceeds 1,800 horsepower.
6. Bugatti Tourbillon – 1,800hp
The Tourbillon is the successor to the iconic Bugatti Chiron, but unlike its predecessor, it doesn't feature a W16 engine. Instead, it uses a naturally-aspirated V16 engine paired with three electric motors, delivering a total of 1,800 horsepower and 2,300 Nm of torque.
This setup allows it to reach a top speed of 277 mph, and it accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in less than 2.0 seconds. Inside, it's beautifully designed and built to high standards. However, be prepared for a starting price of around £3.2 million, which is quite steep.
Lykkers, we've explored some of the most powerful cars available today, each pushing the boundaries of automotive engineering with staggering horsepower figures.
