Costa Brava Adventures
Hey, Lykkers! Are you ready to explore the stunning beauty of Costa Brava with us?
Join us as we share our adventures in this captivating region of Spain, where vibrant culture meets breathtaking landscapes.
The Alluring Beaches
Our adventure began on the sun-kissed shores of Costa Brava, known for its rugged coastline and hidden coves. We spent our days lounging on the pristine beaches, with the crystal-clear waters of the Mediterranean inviting us for a refreshing swim. The most notable beach we visited was Platja de Aiguablava, a perfect spot for sunbathing and snorkeling. We found it surprisingly peaceful, even during peak season. The beach is accessible year-round and free to enter, making it a perfect day out.
Exploring the Charming Villages
Next, we ventured into the picturesque village of Cadaqués, famous for its whitewashed buildings and artistic heritage. We wandered through narrow streets, admiring the local art galleries and enjoying the vibrant atmosphere. A highlight was visiting the Salvador Dalí House Museum. Open from 9:30 AM to 8 PM, tickets cost €14 for adults and €8 for students. Standing in the artist's former home was like stepping into his surreal world, filled with unique art and eccentric designs.
Nature's Masterpiece: Cap de Creus
Our journey continued to the Cap de Creus Natural Park, a stunning blend of land and sea. We hiked along the scenic trails, taking in breathtaking views of the rugged cliffs and diverse flora. The park is open year-round, and entry is free, allowing us to enjoy nature without spending a dime. Don’t forget to bring your camera; the vistas are simply breathtaking!
Local Cuisine: A Taste of Tradition
No trip to Costa Brava would be complete without indulging in the local cuisine. We savored traditional dishes like escalivada (grilled vegetables) and fideuà (a noodle version of paella) at a cozy beachside restaurant in Tossa de Mar. Prices ranged from €10 to €20 per dish, and the flavors were out of this world! We also tried crema catalana for dessert, a delightful treat that cost around €4.
A Perfect Place to Stay
After long days of exploration, we found our home away from home at Hotel Santa Marta, nestled among pine trees and overlooking the sea. The hotel offered a blend of luxury and comfort, with stunning views and an inviting pool. Rooms started at around €150 per night, but the experience was worth every penny.
The on-site restaurant served delicious meals that showcased local flavors, making it easy for us to indulge without straying far from our cozy retreat.
As our time in Costa Brava came to an end, we reflected on the incredible experiences and memories we’d made. From idyllic beaches and charming villages to delectable food and comfortable accommodations, this region truly has it all. If you’re looking for an unforgettable escape, we wholeheartedly recommend Costa Brava. We can’t wait to share more adventures with you soon!
