King Of Fruits
In the strawberry market, there are more than a dozen main strawberry cultivars.
They are generally divided into European and American strawberry varieties, Japanese and Korean strawberry varieties and so on.
The Japanese and Korean strawberry varieties are the most popular in our market, while the European and American varieties are mainly processed.
Strawberries belong to the family Rosaceae, the genus Strawberry.
There are more than 50 species in this genus, and most of the cultivated species are hybrids of wild strawberries, most of which are artificial hybrids and more complex.
The common mainstream strawberry varieties are red strawberry, chapter strawberry, with the pearl strawberry, Ning Yu strawberry, Christmas red strawberry, female peak and so on.
1. Chilean leather berry: a wild species native to southern Chile in South America.
Many of the world's best cultivars are hybrids of this species and others.
The plants of this species are low and stout, with leaves longer than the inflorescence, large, rounded, thicker, densely velvety, glossy.
They are with a bluish powdery, bluish-white abaxial surface, with bluntly toothed leaf margins and short, thick, ruddy petioles.
Pedicels short and pendulous, dioecious, with large petals, yellowish white at first bloom, turning pure white at full bloom.
The fruit is large, soft, irregularly shaped, dark red, fragrant and with a large calyx underneath.
The seeds are large and black in colour.
2. Bromeliad strawberry: The cultivars selected from this species are particularly numerous.
It is a strong, tall plant with long, thin, colourful, dense leaves. The pedicels are short and thick, densely velvety.
Flowers large, fruit orbicular or heart-shaped, deep red or slightly yellowish, flesh pure white are often with a hollow centre.
The seeds are brown and have a very high germination rate, and the fruit of live seedlings is mostly very good.
Many of the best cultivars come from this species.
3. Cream strawberry: When it comes to strawberries, I believe most people know about cream strawberry, but cream strawberry is not the name of a strawberry variety, it is the alias of "chapter strawberry".
It is a good variety of strawberry. The fruit is neat and conical, bright and shiny, with a creamy aroma and a pleasant fragrance.
The flesh is light red, tender and juicy, tasting solid and juicy, and deeply favoured by the strawberry family.
In Japan, it is considered to be the best of the strawberries.
Among the many varieties of strawberries, there are three basic flavours that can be used to classify fresh strawberries: sweet, light and sour.
The sweet strawberry is the most popular flavour and is very popular in our country, probably due to dietary habits.
The two varieties represented are the red and the chamomile, both of which have a strong sweet flavour.
The white strawberry strains, such as the white strawberry and the snow white strawberry, are not as sweet as the red strawberry variety, but have a light and refreshing flavour that is not cloying and is sought after by some consumers.
The sweet and sour type of strawberries are much less popular in the market.
It is not common to find these types of strawberries in the fresh food market, but they are mostly European and American varieties, which are large, astringent and sour in flavour.
In addition to flavour, the colour and shape of the strawberry is also a factor in the consumer's choice of strawberry.
White strawberries and pale pink strawberries have become increasingly attractive to consumers over the years.
The banana strawberry, which is long and stripy, also caught the eye of consumers.
