Amazon asked the seller to provide the latest CPSIA (Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act) compliance testing documentation from a CPSC (Consumer Product Safety Commission) accredited lab and ASTM F963 (American Toy Safety Standard) certification: More than 18,000 children's products were recalled as a matter of urgency.
In addition, according to media reports, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) recently announced a recall of over 18,000 children's products sold exclusively on Amazon.
They are Little Senses Lights&SoundsShapeSorter toys and Ekouaer brand children's bathrobes.
The recall of Little Senses Lights&SoundsShapeSorter toys is due to the fact that the product may break during use, releasing small white balls that pose a rate risk to infants, and the recall of Ekouaer bathrobes is due to the fact that the product does not meet the flammability standards for pajamas, posing a burn risk.
What is CPC certification?
CPC certificate is similar to China's quality inspection report, which is issued after passing the relevant test and issuing the report. The certificate lists the information of the importer/exporter, the information of the product, the relevant testing items passed, and the regulatory standards based on them.
The Amazon platform will require merchants to upload CPC certificates for some categories of products (such as children's toys, baby products, children's clothing, etc.), and children's products without CPC certificates cannot be sold.
Which children's products need CPC certification?
All products covered by the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA) must have CPC. broadly speaking, the CPSIA applies to all toys and children's products sold in the United States.
1. If the product is properly marketed for children under 12 years of age;
2、If the product is provided in a package suitable for children under 12 years of age;
3. If the product display (for example, sold in a toy store or online store that sells children's products) displays a product that is appropriate for use by children under the age of 12;
4. if the product is generally recognized as a product intended primarily for use by children under the age of 12.
Therefore, the CPSIA covers any product that may be considered a children's product, which means you must issue a Children's Product Certificate.
Here are some examples (including but not limited to).
Plastic toys, plush toys, dolls, children's clothing, baby products, children's furniture, children's accessories, children's jewelry, toy cars, wooden toys, and beach cars.
