Of course, this sport is well known among young people. BMX or bicycling motocross is a youth creation in California, United States that combines bicycles with the flexibility and endurance of motocross.
The size of the bike is small and the weight is light because it is not used for long distances. BMX is more used for freestyle and performing dangerous but extraordinary tricks such as back-flip,, downhill, and many other tricks.
• Free Ride (FR)
Designed to be able to withstand high jumps (drop offs) and similar extreme conditions. The frame is strong but not as fast and agile as the All Mountain type bike, because of its heavier weight, it is less suitable for use on long distances and is not very suitable for incline. This type of bike is similar in spec to the Downhill type. This type of bicycle has a long suspension fork that travels between 180-200 mm.
• Mountain Bikes (MTB)
Mountain Biking (MTB) entered the Olympic program for the first time at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics. At that time, the sport itself was more than 40 years old. It started in 1953, when a student changed his bicycle and tried to ride it on a hill.
The first competition was held outside of San Francisco. He recognized Mountain Biking as a bicycle sport because of the efforts of Velo Club Mount Tamalpais. They created the Repack Downhill race which was held regularly between 1976 and 1979 from the Golden Gate Bridge to San Francisco. The competition also attracted many riders from all over, even the mass media.
By young people, this sport is considered a cool and extreme sport. In 1990, the sport became a professional sport complete with its World Championships.
• Downhill
Downhill or Gravity is a race on a downhill offroad road, where the fastest wins. The speed of the bicycle in the Downhill race is faster than the speed of the bicycle in the Cross Country race. The bike is designed with longer suspension travel, to cope with uneven steep descents at high speeds.
• Enduro/All Mountain (AM)
Usually used for a combination of cross country path (XC) and light downhill (light DH). Designed for traversing tough terrain such as up and down hills, into jungles, traversing rocky terrain, and exploring long-distance off-road terrain. Has 2 front and rear suspension (double suspension). The length of the rear suspension (rear suspension) is about 6 inches and the length of the front suspension (fork) is from 140-160 mm. Users can climb the mountain well (not heavy), as well as can go down the mountain quickly (not rocking), because of the optimal suspension length. The advantages of this type of bicycle are in its durability and comfort to ride. Another name for this type of bike is "Enduro".
