Known as the "Eighth Wonder of the World", the Rice Terraces Of The Cordilleras are located in the Andes Mountains. This is land cleared by local indigenous tribes in the bare mountains for their livelihoods.
In order to prevent soil erosion, the local people worked tirelessly for centuries to build embankments with stones, until they became the current Rice Terraces Of The Cordilleras, also known as the "ladder to heaven".
