Ingredients:
4 cups flour
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup warm milk
2 eggs
1/4 cup warm water
1/4 cup dry yeast
1/4 cup orange blossom water
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon grated lemon zest
1 teaspoon grated orange zest
1 egg yolk
1 tablespoon water
Candied fruit for decoration
Instructions:
1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the warm milk, warm water, and dry yeast. Stir until the yeast is dissolved.
2. Add the flour, sugar, butter, eggs, salt, grated lemon zest, grated orange zest, and orange blossom water to the mixing bowl. Mix until a smooth dough forms.
3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes.
4. Place the dough in a large greased bowl and cover with a clean kitchen towel. Let the dough rise in a warm place for about 2 hours.
5. Preheat the oven to 375°F.
6. Divide the dough in half and shape each half into a round loaf. Place the loaves on a greased baking sheet and let rise for an additional 30 minutes.
7. Beat the egg yolk and water together and brush the mixture over the loaves.
8. Decorate the top of the loaves with candied fruit.
9. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the loaves are golden brown and sound hollow when tapped.
