Cute Red Panda
The red panda looks like a cat, but is larger than a cat, with a reddish-brown body. The red panda has a fat body and is covered with thick long hair. The body length is 40~63 cm, the tail length is more than half of the body length, and the weight is generally about 5 kg.
The red panda has a very good appearance, with bright reddish-brown hair very dazzling, and a long fluffy tail trailing behind him, and the red tail has a circle of rings. But the belly of the red panda is black, and the limbs are also black. The red panda not only looks cute, but also moves cutely. They often lie lazily on tree trunks, or curl up to sleep, with their red and white faces resting on the tree, sometimes sticking out their pink tongues, closing their eyes and smiling.
The red panda's hearing and vision are relatively slow, and the sense of smell is not particularly sensitive. Usually in pairs or small groups. There is no hibernation habit, and when it rains or snows, it mostly hides from the rain and snow in the crevices of rocks or in the shade of big trees. They like to eat bamboo shoots, twigs and leaves and various wild fruits, especially sweet foods.
The life of animals in the wild is not so safe, especially for animals like the red panda, which are small and have no ability to fight back. If large carnivores are encountered in the wild, they may be preyed on as food. However, the red panda also has a useless response when it encounters danger, that is, "raise your hand and surrender". Red pandas are timid by nature. When they encounter danger, they will stand up and raise their hands, which looks like a "hands-up surrender" gesture.
The reason why red pandas raise their hands when they are in danger is because standing and raising their hands can make them look bigger, making predators mistakenly think they are tall and give up predation. Although this behavior of red pandas may seem a little stupid, in the eyes of humans, their actions are very cute.
However, due to habitat destruction, the red panda is already an endangered species. Over the past 50 years, the red panda population has declined by 40 percent. The mortality rate of red pandas in the wild is very high, coupled with the reasons of human hunting, the number of red pandas has been declining year by year.
