Cyprus Coastal Adventure
Hey, Lykkers fans! If you're dreaming of a sun-soaked island adventure filled with breathtaking views and delicious food, Cyprus should be on your radar.
Join us as we recount our unforgettable experiences exploring this Mediterranean gem, from stunning lighthouses to mouthwatering local cuisine!

Exploring the Paphos Lighthouse

Our journey began in Paphos, a coastal city rich in history and culture. One of our first stops was the Paphos Lighthouse, an iconic symbol of the area. Standing tall since the late 19th century, this lighthouse offers a stunning view of the Mediterranean Sea and the surrounding coastline. We spent a leisurely afternoon walking along the picturesque harbor, taking photos, and enjoying the cool sea breeze.

The lighthouse is located near the Paphos Archaeological Park, making it easy to combine both attractions in one visit. The park itself is open daily from 8 AM to 7:30 PM during the summer months, with a ticket price of around €4.50. After exploring the archaeological site, we enjoyed watching the sunset from the lighthouse area, where the sky turned into a canvas of orange and pink hues—a moment we’ll never forget!

Practical Tips for Your Visit

Getting around Cyprus is a breeze, especially if you rent a car, which we did for about €25 a day. This allowed us the freedom to explore the island's stunning landscapes and hidden gems at our own pace. The roads are well-maintained, and driving on the left side was an exciting change for us!
When planning your trip, we recommend visiting in the spring or early fall for the best weather and fewer crowds. This way, you can enjoy popular attractions like the Paphos Lighthouse and the beautiful beaches without feeling rushed.

Local Culinary Delights

One of the best parts of our trip was indulging in the local cuisine. Cyprus is famous for its delicious food, and we made it a point to try as much as we could. A must-try dish is Meze, which is a delightful assortment of small dishes perfect for sharing. We enjoyed a vegetarian meze platter at a charming local taverna, filled with dishes like hummus, stuffed grape leaves, and grilled halloumi. This delectable platter cost us around €15 per person, and we left completely satisfied!
Another local favorite we couldn’t resist was Souvlaki, marinated chicken skewers grilled to perfection. Served with fresh pita and salad, this dish was not only tasty but also a great value at about €7. The fresh ingredients and vibrant flavors truly showcased the culinary richness of Cyprus.
We also discovered Cypriot salad, a refreshing mix of tomatoes, cucumbers, and feta cheese drizzled with olive oil. Priced at around €5, it was the perfect accompaniment to our meals, adding a burst of freshness to every bite.
